How to Find Hyatt Points Plus Cash Availability

Will Run for Miles reports that it’s possible to use a special corporate rate code to more effectively search for available Points plus Cash nights on Hyatt’s website.  Without this code, it is necessary to find a specific Hyatt hotel and enter the dates you want to stay, and then click the “Show Hyatt Gold Passport Points & Awards” box to see if Points plus Cash is available:

Hyatt Points plus Cash

The corporate code trick: Search for Points plus Cash across multiple properties: Code 51440

Hyatt Points plus Cash Corporate Code Trick

With the corporate code trick, you can search across properties to look for Points plus Cash availability.  When searching for hotels within a particular city, click to enter Special Rates, select Corporate or Group Code and enter 51440, as shown above.

Hyatt Points plus Cash Corporate Code Trick Search Results

Properties that show Points plus Cash dollar amounts have Points and Cash availability.  Look for the following dollar amounts: $50, $55, $75, $100, $125, $150, $300.  You can find Hyatt’s Points and Cash chart here.

Not quite perfect

Frequent Miler  found that it usually worked, but not always.  Still, if you know you want to stay in a particular area and want to pay Points and Cash, this is a great way to help narrow your search.

Chase Credit Cards: Change of Rules A.K.A. 5/24

Chase is unveiling a new policy in regards to gaming the credit card system. If you’ve opened more than five new credit card accounts in the past 24 months (hence 5/24), you won’t be approved for any new cards from Chase. Currently this rule only applies to Chase Ultimate Reward earning personal cards (e.g Chase Freedom & Chase Sapphire Preferred. We have made mention in previous posts that Chase will soon be extending their 5/24 rule to co-branded  credit cards (e.g. United, BA, ect) sometime in April.

 Chase Bank Credit Cards

Most people that read this blog apply for a lot more than five cards every two years, so this might be your last chance to grab some Chase cards. I thought it would be a good idea to have a look at the Chase application rules & best practices, the current best offers for each Chase credit card and the best current offers overall. If there will be a work around that someone will figure out – that can be possible. However there are no workarounds reported as of yet. This is almost as bad as Amex rule allowing credit cards to be opened only once per cardmember.

Chase Application Rules To The Best Of Our Research

Chase will usually approve a maximum of two new credit cards per month. (Some people got three, but this requires a reconsideration call ). An application January 31 and February 1 is not considered 2 months. You will need to wait the full 30 days.

If you’re not instantly approved for a card, WAIT. If you call reconsideration it’s more then likely that you’ll be denied, based on the 5/24 rule. Although it officially hasn’t gone into effect yet the reps are already implementing it. Our advise, and the advise of many other bloggers is to wait it out.

There is a 24 months period from the time you received the sign up bonus to get it again. This is the 24 from the 5/24 rule.

For most people the best option will be to apply for two credit cards in the same day to get the hard pulls combined (keep in mind that you can either do two business or two personal not a mix of the two). If you are not a churner do what you want. However a word of caution, the Tortoise won the race because he was slow and steady – enough said.

Tortoise wins  the race !

One More Thing!

The standard bonus is 60,000 points, but this card has peaked at 80,000 points a few times. The 85,000 is the highest public bonus for the Surpass card I’ve ever seen, so if you’re in need of Hilton points it’s probably a good bet. However, if you are a Avid Credit Card Joint reader you will know there is a way to get 50,000 HHonors points with this Surpass credit card without getting a credit pull.

True 50k isn’t 85k, but 50,000 with a credit pull is work 35,000 points.

What is this 50k you keep mentioning?

So all you need to do is have an existing card that is eligible, I had a HHonors regular card, so that worked. I didn’t apply for the HHonors card, rather I downgraded the Amex Delta Platinum card that I got last month with 60k.  For those that read our blog frequently, they would have nabbed that card as well. now it is really putting my credit pull to good use with this bonus 50k on the Surpass card.

What else do you need to do?

There is a spending requirement of $3,000 in 90 days, like all credit card signups.

Citigroup bans Credit Cards From Sports Betting: Long Live Chase and Amex

Have a Citi credit card or debit card? Don’t bother to try using it to bet on your fantasy sports sites.  Citigroup has barred its New York customers from making credit card transactions with DraftKings and FanDuelJennifer Bombardier a bank spokesperson said, “The ban will last until a decision on the sites’ legality is made by courts”. The sites are in a legal dispute with Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who calls them illegal gambling sites. The sites argue that their games are based on skill and therefore legal.

My K9 Web protection also categorized it as GAMBLING.

Luckily, Credit card Joint followers have other credit cards at their disposal. See all our latest cards on our Credit Card page. There are several good American Express and Chase offers that you can apply for.
